- Are these notices legally valid?
- The templates follow the notice periods and required fields set by each state's statutes, and the dates are calculated for you. That removes the errors that get notices thrown out. It is not legal advice, and LandlordForms is not a law firm. For a contested eviction, a habitability claim, or anything already headed to court, talk to a landlord-tenant attorney in your state.
- Do I need an account to use a template?
- No. Every template and calculator on the site fills in and downloads without an account or a card. Paid plans exist for the month after that, when you want tenant details reused, receipts generated automatically, and records kept in one place.
- How is this different from a Word template I already have?
- A Word template still makes you retype the tenant, the property and the amount every time, and it will not tell you that a 30-day notice needed to be 60 days for a tenant of more than a year. Here the details are stored once, the notice period comes from your state's rules, and every document you generate is filed against that tenant.
- Which states are covered?
- All 50 states and Washington D.C. Notice periods, maximum security deposit, and deposit return deadlines are tracked per state and applied to the forms you generate.
- What does the free trial include?
- Fourteen days of the full plan you pick. A card is required to start, so the subscription converts automatically at the end of the trial. Cancel before day 14 in your settings and you are not charged.
- What happens to my documents if I cancel?
- Download anything you need before you cancel. Suite plans can bulk export every notice, receipt and report to a ZIP, and the rent ledger to CSV. If you delete your account, all of it is removed permanently, which is the point of the deletion tool.
